Come and See Weekend at Gethsemani | Sept. 2-4, 2022

Experience the monastic life with others considering their call

The Abbey of Gethsemani is pleased to welcome men discerning God’s will for them this Labor Day weekend. During this three-day retreat, participants will get a “behind-the-scenes” look at life in the monastery. They will pray the Divine Office in choir with the monks, tour the workplaces and have opportunities for sharing with others how God is at work in their lives.

Participants will also spend an afternoon at Thomas Merton’s hermitage with some of our monks in formation, and join us in Chapter for the abbot’s weekly conference.

The Come and See Weekend is open to single men between the ages of 18 and 35. Participants must be Roman Catholic, enjoy good health of mind and body and be vaccinated against COVID. There is no charge to participate, but space is limited. Please respond early to ensure a place in the weekend experience.
